Ampner Oy’s Power Engineering business unit continues strong growth. The wind power project expert participates in the implementation of Ilmatar Energy Oy’s power plant project in Alajärvi.
The Alajärvi wind farm in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland, includes 36 wind turbines and two substations, Möksy and Louhukangas. With nominal power of approximately 220 MW the plant is expected to be completed during 2023.
Ampner has been involved in many ways already during the predesign and concept phases of the wind farm project, for instance by dimensioning the main components as well as carrying out electrical design and energy loss calculations. In January 2022 Ampner and Ilmatar signed an agreement of implementation phase where Ampner, in addition to earlier tasks, continues as a consultant in grid compliance. The agreement includes electrical planning design during the building phase, coordinating the protection settings and studies of sub-synchronous interaction.
